I personally am delighted to have the ability to create my own Legend of Grimrock dungeons. It's simple to use, and at the same time you can get as complex as you need. I've been waiting for a while and my expectations have definitely been... nearly reached.
Don't get me wrong, this is an awesome tool (hell, i even have my dungeon open in the background right now). But... there are definitely a few flaws, big ones unfortunately.
This post is to talk about the highs and the lows of Legend of Grimrock's Dungeon Editor.
1. Alcove Shenanigans. I dislike being unable to place boxes, scrolls, or bags with things written/placed in them (aside from using LUA scripting. It works, but it's slow). Hopefully this can be fixed later
2. Pre-set testing. This isn't a huge issue but honestly, I would rather have my characters for testing set up the way I play, to ensure that I can play to my optimum ability.
3. Tedious Creation. I'm one of those people that will play dungeon after dungeon. Unfortunately I forsee MANY people making tiny 1-floor dungeons. Going through the tedious task of creating the same party time after time is going to get almost excrutiatingly boring. Perhaps there could be a quickload set up for a few different parties.
4. Is this gonna be overpowered? One HUGE flaw I've noticed is my inability to know whether or not an item is being placed in a place where it will be used without being overpowered. Perhaps in the item selection bar it could give a preview of item stats?
5. MOAR CONTENT! This is more of a minor point, but I wouldn't mind seeing some smaller updates in the future involving more content (specifically dungeon styles) Maybe even varying wall types to change a small section of one of your floors into, for example, dirt, rock, and roots?
6.Lack of Scrolling? I've found that when trying to connect plates and buttons to many things I'm unable to go past a certain amount without having to shrink the preview window. And if shrinking the preview window doesn't let me connect what I need, then im screwed!
7. Item type conversion! The name might be a little confusing but what I'm looking for is (for example) if I place down a dungeon plate, i could click it and access a dropdown menu to change it from DUNGEON plate to TEMPLE plate.
8. Mass Eventing. The name, again, might be confusing. What I mean by Mass Eventing is (for example) If i select 3 buttons, due to the fact that they all share the ability to be connected to an item, I can place a collection on ALL 3 by using a dropdown menu while X amount are selected.
Well those are my problems. No one should take this as a post of me and others whining about whats wrong because its not, this is more of a post to bring to attention some notable flaws and such and ways we could work around them. Overall I give the editor a 9/10. How about you? what are your thoughts or suggestions to help Grimrock become even MORE amazing?
Grimrock Dungeon Editor: The Ups and the Downs
Re: Grimrock Dungeon Editor: The Ups and the Downs
quite a few of those requests have been already been culled and recorded in this thread:

But you have a couple new ones that are interesting, so I encourage you to read through what we've come up with so far and add a few to the thread that would be helpful to include there

Re: Grimrock Dungeon Editor: The Ups and the Downs
thanks, sorry I didn't check around much. I mostly just posted this because someone from the steam workshop said it might be beneficial due to the developers actually looking at these posts
