Slimes and gratings

At one point in the game Slimes are able to attack you through the wall gratings as you move and I thought that could be utilized as a brilliant mechanic for a trap, but for some reason the slimes aren't attacking through the walls. Is there something extra I need to do before I can get them to do so?

Ah, I managed to reproduve it and it seems like a bug to me. Thanks for spotting it!
