With reasonable hardware/video cards etc?
Given that I think Neverwinter Nights is amazing graphically (Yeah I'm really old school hehe) when given plenty of resources, what kind of budget video card fed Grimrock and so on would make things really sweet and for how much?

I hate to burst your bubble... I love Grimrock, awesome game... But it only has 3 environments. Dungeon/cave, Temple, and Prison. That's it. And even in those environments. There are only like, maybe 6 textures? Not including the plain normal 1 that is split 4 ways for normal and 3 with secret buttons.
Basically... Low, Med, High. The only difference any graphic change is going to make, is how fast the game is...

Rats! Foiled again...That's a shame...so better video cards don't give more pleasing results? (I have quite old equipment)

Not too pleasing. This isn't really a game all about Graphics, it's more of the mechanics. That might change, when the Dungeon Editor comes out, people might find a way to mod maps to include their own textures. Or the Devs might let us import our own into it, who knows. But yeah, the only real difference I see is that on low, the walls look... foggy, smudged, not focused? While High just make it so you can easily spot the secret buttons since everything on the wall is more define and the secret pops right out from the rest of the wall. Very hard to miss.

Personally I think the game looks great.

Me too. But I'm pleased with plot/music over graphic majesty anyway.
