Regarding DEX.

You know what...

I take it all back. I was complaining about the way Dexterity is used, but I was wrong. This implementation actually makes more sense to me than the standard one. I guess I was just too used to the convention, and it took a while to realize why this system is better.

Good job, AH, thanks for doing this.

For those of us who missed this, could you describe what the implementation is, and why you like it? I have missed both parts of this.

I agree. Bows are a specialized skill, not a byproduct of being dextrous. They should be mainly based on your progress in that specialized skill, with strength playing a lesser role.

Ranged attacks don't miss so what point does Dexterity have for a ranged rogue? Dexterity only affects evasion and melee accuracy which means it's most important for fighters not rogues. The exception would be going for an Assassin/Dagger/Unarmed rogue where naturally melee accuracy comes into play again.

Exception?
That's 3 fighting schools out of 5 (other 2 being throwing and missile).

I can ask you same question:
What the point would be maxing willpower for fighers?
Willpower should go to mages.
Does this means that willpower is broken stat if most fighter builds dont use it effectively?

TL&DR
(HINT) for certain Rogue builds STR is better, for certain other builds DEX is better.

None, in my opinion, (just finished the game with a missile specialist rogue) he doesn't need dexterity, he only needs strength to get a little bit more damage output and 50 points in missile skill (put the remaining into assassination for a strenght boost if you have any), he is in the backrow so evasion is useless, and as people have already stated accuracy doesn't affect ranged weapons (a bit funny indeed), and he won't be using anything but a bow/crossbow anyway.
I think it's been done this way because of the grid combat system probably, or because of all the problems regarding ammunitions that missed the enemy such, as where would it land? Dunno.

The minotaur is in fact the best ranged character.

Edit: actually it's weirder for a warrior to need willpower than for a rogue to need dexterity, the point is that if you choose to go missile rogue you don't need anything else but strenght and 50 skills points, a bit of a waste in my opinion

I would say that Dex is too powerful because Evasion is best stat for frontline and with high Dex character will have much better survival in melee then character with high Vitality&heavy armor.

p.s. Though somewhat balanced vs mages, where fighter have better time due to more hp.

@Whisper

Was there any point to your response? I have already noted that Rogues using Assassination, Daggers and Unarmed will still need Dexterity. Most people are use to Dexterity being used for Ranged Attacks, I was simply stating how it was different in this game; in my opinion strength makes more sense than Dexterity for ranged attacks.

The minotaur is in fact the best ranged character.
Dex = survivability.
STR = damage.
(No matter what weapon used).

So depending on build and place in party (front/back) any of this two stats can be better or can be worse. It just depends on build.
