Had this error since launch day..error in .cfg

Post by andyroosta »

Just thought i'd ask if there's a remedy for this one? It's no biggie just a pain to see every time i load up the game.

*Every time i launch Grimrock 2 i get this error..

Error in grimrock.cfg

"=" expected near "|"

revert to default configuration?

* I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game and the same for the redists. Any ideas? (windows 7 64 bit Steam, nvidia gtx 780).Cheers.

Never seen this one.

How about posting the content of your grimrock.cfg here so we can have a look at it?
What happens when you do "revert to default configuration"?

That .cfg looks fine to me.

With "what happens" i ment after an immediate quit and restart of the game, without changing any options. Does the game keep coming up with this message or is it gone then?

Can you zip the config file and upload it?
It's possible that the config file contains characters that don't show up in a text editor, but cause an error when LoG2 tries to read them.

Yes, every time i load the game this message reappears.

Zo Kath Ra, here's my cfg file via upload.

My installation shows no error when it's started with your .cfg file.

Now what you might want to check is if this is really the .cfg in use since the last change to it was over 24 hours ago.

Thanks for checking it out Dr.Disaster..it's the only grimrock.cfg on the drive...in the correct location too.

I double checked the file was written to by changing a couple of options..started the game and quit back to windows. The file showed the changes and the date was correct..then i started up the game again and got exactly the same error as before.

How about making a backup copy and deleting it? I think it will be recreated automagically.

What language is your Operating System?
Intel i7 5960X
Gigabye GA-X99-Gaming 5
8 GB DDR4 (2100)
GeForce GTX 970 (Gigabyte)
