Game Crashes on start up, help please

So just bought the game and would really love to play it, have uninstalled and re-installed to no avail. This is what I get.

Try reinstalling Direct-X and VC++ libraries (VCREdist....)

First of all:
the D3DError hints at a corrupt or outdated DirectX installation. This needs to be fixed.
-> Install the latest nvidia video driver for your card (that'll be the v340.52 notebooks-edition; not the regular one!)
=>> in the installer select the "Custom" install option plus check the "Reinstall" option there!
=>> de-select the 3D-part of the driver; you won't need it
-> After the driver installation re-install DirectX (see the _CommonRedist folder that came with the game)

Now a word of warning regarding the GPU itself. The GeForce 8600M GT may be able to run the game BUT it is way WAY below the minimum requirement. The game requires a certain amount of rendering power which this chip can not provide even with all gfx options set to low so most of the time you will crawl around at 20 FPS and less.
